The Kidde P1276CA is a 120 V AC, wire-in smoke alarm with front-loading 9 V battery backup that can function as a stand-alone unit or interconnect with up to 24 Kidde devices. The front-loading battery door allows user to change the battery without removing the alarm from the mounting bracket making battery replacement easy and convenient. This alarm uses ionization sensing technology.

- Wait at least 7 minutes for the Hush mode chirp to cancel on its own
- Any chirps after this time will indicate a defect or a low battery
- Reinstall the battery making sure that hand does not touch the Hush Button, and making sure that it is not resting/pressing on a table when inserting the battery (as this will automatically press the Hush)
